The Daily Courier Writes on Mountain Pines 100th Anniversary
Celebrating decades of family fun and social gatherings, Mountain Pines Campground marks its 100 years this month. A three-day weekend celebration is planned Aug. 12 through 14. It is open to the public and will include family activities, entertainment and food. Mountain Pines was founded in 1922 and was called Newill’s Grove Picnic Area, general manager Forrest Johnson said.
